New "Equal Opportunity is the Law" Poster Available
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has revised its Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law poster. This new version shows current federal employment discrimination law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008. The poster was revised to add information about the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008, which is effective November 21, 2009.   (10/23/09)
ARRA Webinar for Federal Contracting and Procurement Officers
Please join the U.S. Department of Labor – OFCCP – in a webinar for federal contracting and procurement officers on the equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws and regulations enforced by OFCCP (Executive Order 11246, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended) and their relationship to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).   (10/21/09)
GAO Report: DHS Has Opportunities to Better Identify and Address Barriers to EEO in Its Workforce
GAO recommends that DHS (1) develop a strategy to regularly include employee input in identifying potential barriers to EEO and (2) establish interim milestones for completing planned activities to address identified barriers. DHS agreed with our recommendations.  (10/05/09)
GAO Report: Options for Improving Equity in State Grants and Considerations for Performance Incentives
State vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies play a crucial role in helping individuals with disabilities obtain employment. In fiscal year 2008, the Department of Education (Education) distributed over $2.8 billion in grants to state agencies, using a funding formula that was last revised in 1978. Questions have been raised about whether this formula is outdated, allocates funds equitably, and adequately accounts for state agencies' performance.  (10/05/09)

CRC Directive 2009-02: Requirements for the Biennial Review of the MOA and Submission of MOA Revisions and Certifications
