Legislation Introduced To Expand Job Training For Veterans
Legislation has been introduced in the House by Representative Rosa L. DeLauro (D-CT) to expand college job training and apprenticeship opportunities for Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans. The legislation would expand the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill to include a subsidy for job training and apprenticeship programs for veterans who do not pursue college. (08/10/09) |

Adult Education For Basic Skills, Training Needs Increased Funding, House Panel Told
On Tuesday, May 5, the House Subcommittee on Higher Education, Lifelong Learning, and Competitiveness held a hearing to examine best practices for improving adult education and family literacy. USDOL Releases TEGL 13-08
TEGL 13-08 provides states and outlying areas with stimulus allotments under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to supplement Program Year (PY) 2008 allotments for WIA Title I Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth Activities Programs, and Employment Service (ES) activities, as required by the Wagner-Peyser Act, as amended, and to provide RES Allotments.
