    USDOL Hosts Annual Salute To Veterans
    The United States Department of Labor hosted its annual Salute to Veterans event on Thursday, November 5th. The event was hosted by Ray Jefferson the new Assistant Secretary for Veterans Employment and Training Service.     Secretary Shinseki Announces Expansion of Counseling for Combat Veterans
    Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki announced that combat Veterans will receive readjustment counseling and other assistance in 28 additional communities across the country where the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will establish Vet Centers in 2010.   (08/18/09)
    Legislation Introduced To Expand Job Training For Veterans
    Legislation has been introduced in the House by Representative Rosa L. DeLauro (D-CT) to expand college job training and apprenticeship opportunities for Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans. The legislation would expand the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill to include a subsidy for job training and apprenticeship programs for veterans who do not pursue college.  (08/10/09)
    Senate Confirms Ray Jefferson To Be Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans' Employment and Training
    Today the Senate unanimously confirmed disabled veteran Ray Jefferson to be Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans’ Employment and Training. After being injured during his Army service, Mr. Jefferson served the State of Hawaii as Deputy Director for the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.  (08/10/09)
