    NASWA Receives Response From IRS On WOTC Issue
    In a letter dated August 8, 2008, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) responded to a request by NASWA for the IRS to consider providing a global settlement with employers regarding inconsistencies with the administration of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit and the Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit programs.  (08/15/08)
    ETA Publishes WIA, Wagner-Peyser, WOTC, and Workforce Information Grant Allotments for PY 2008 (Maps & Attachments Included)
    The U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration released Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) No, 23-07, providing states and outlying areas with WIA Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth Activities Program allotments for Program Year (PY) 2008; final allotments for PY 2008 Wagner-Peyser Act activities, Workforce Information Grants to States for PY 2008 and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit allotments for FY 2008.  (03/26/08)
    New TANF Regulations
    On February 8, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services published final rules implementing changes to the TANF program. An interim final rule was published on June 29, 2006. The February 5, 2008, Federal Register is in response to the 2006 interim rules.  (02/05/08)
    Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program: ETA Proposes Revision to Information Collection; Seeks Comments by March 10
    The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) has proposed the extension, with revisions, of the collection of information and use of program materials for the consolidated Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program.   (01/14/08)

    SSA Proposes Changes to the Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program
    SSA is proposing revisions to its current program rules to simplify and improve the definition of "using a ticket" and its related requirements for measuring "timely progress toward self-supporting employment."   (08/14/07)
    DOL Awards Grants to Faith-based and Community Organizations
    The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration today announced $3.8 million in grants to 73 faith-based and community organizations competitively chosen to help hard-to-serve populations prepare for and succeed in employment opportunities in 28 states and the District of Columbia.  (06/28/07)

    The Congressional Research Service is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Director for Domestic Social Policy. The Domestic Social Policy Division comprises six research and policy groups: Children and Families, Domestic Security and Immigration, Education and Labor, Health Insurance and Financing, Health Services Research and Aging Policy, and Income Support & Research Development.
