    Six State Coalition Requests Congressional Leaders Reject WIA Rescission
    In a letter to the leaders of the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations, the Governors of California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Ohio and Texas urge the restoration of $335 million in WIA program funding that would be rescinded under the House approved fiscal year 2008 spending bill.   (10/19/07)
    Congressmen John Tierney (D-MA) and Ric Keller (R-FL) Seek Support of Colleagues to Reject WIA Rescission
    The letter urges leaders of the House Committee on Appropriations to work with their Senate colleagues to remove the language that could rescind $335 million from WIA programs.   (10/10/07)
    House Minority Introduces WIA Reauthorization Bill

    NGA Expresses Concern with House Approved Rescission to WIA
    The National Governors' Association says the issue of WIA spend down should be managed through WIA reauthorization not the appropriations process.     House Holds Second Hearing on WIA Focused on Program Administration
    The House Subcommittee on Higher Education, Lifelong Learning and Competitiveness held its second and likely final hearing on reauthorization of WIA on July 26, 2007. The House Subcommittee Chairman is not expected to introduce his bill to reauthorize WIA until late this year or even early next year.  (07/31/07)
